YEG Christmas Market

880 CHED Santas Anonymous is partnering with the YEG Christmas Market (ECM) at Fort Edmonton Park this season! We’re inviting corporate and community groups like yours to spend a festive day together while helping create a magical holiday experience for thousands of visitors.

Volunteer will greet guests, keep lineups moving, guide families through the grounds, or tend cozy fire pits. These fun, team-friendly shifts are a great way to spread holiday cheer while supporting Santas Anonymous. 

  • Shifts at the YEG Christmas Market are outside at Fort Edmonton Park - the Christmas Market will ensure volunteers will have access to a warm volunteer hub with snacks and beverages, and thank-you packages including swag and festival passes.

  • Volunteers ages 10-15 are welcome if accompanied by an adult.

  • Youth age 16+ are welcome to volunteer on their own.

  • The request form will be available online from September 15-30, 2025.

  • Shifts are scheduled between November 20-December 21, 2025.

  • Group volunteering is extremely popular, and we often receive more requests than shifts available. In order to make it as fair of a process as possible, a lottery draw may be held for any oversubscribed shifts. 

Groups will be notified by October 27, 2025 regarding their shift date or waitlist status.

Volunteer Roles at the YEG Christmas Market

Festival Decorating Elves

Pre-opening decorating shifts are November 20 & 21 from 10:30am-2:00pm. Duties may include: 

  • Assist ECM staff with initial pre-production of the festival
  • Help decorate and bring to life the ECM festival grounds
  • Assist with light weight moving of materials between venues 

Christmas Market Elves

Shifts will be approximately 4 hours. Festival hours are Thursdays 3:00pm-9:00pm, Fridays 3:00pm-10:00pm, Saturdays 12:00pm-9:00pm, Sunday 12:00pm-8:00pm. Children age 10+ are welcome to volunteer with a supervising adult. Teenagers 16+ are welcome to volunteer on their own. 

Volunteer groups will be assigned to one of several fun and team-friendly roles, such as:

  • Greeting guests and spreading cheer

  • Assisting with line management to keep things running smoothly

  • Helping keep fire pits warm and safe

  • Supporting accessibility and guest experience throughout the market

Please choose your first choice of date and shift time.

Groups over 25 people please choose 'ALL DAY' to cover all volunteer shifts on your preferred date. 

Alternatively, large groups can also be divided among your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choice options. Please note that space is limited in each shift, and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

Guidelines:

  • Volunteers are scheduled for 4 hour shifts in groups of 5-30 volunteers
  • All volunteers between the ages of 10-15 will be accompanied by a supervising adult
