This is the most popular volunteer role at Santas Anonymous. Delivering toys to Edmonton homes is a tradition for many in the community.
YES! Scheduled delivery day shifts are currently full, but you can still join us on Delivery Days!
We have two designated standby lanes for drivers without booked shifts, it may take a little longer to get through, but our elves will do their best to send you off with gift bags to deliver.
Delivery Days are December 16 & 17, 2023. Delivery appointments will be scheduled in 15-minute time slots. Hours are to be determined.
There is no app to download this year - we're using a new delivery system that does not require an app download. More information will be provided closer to delivery days.
We are in need of Parking and Traffic Control Volunteers in Groups of 2-20 on Delivery Days. Volunteers must be over 18, please note that this is an outdoor job, volunteers must be able to stay for the full shift.
We are also in need of porters to help bring toys out to driver vehicles. Click here for more info
You may take as many packages as you like as long as they fit in your sleigh! If this changes throughout the day, you'll be updated when you arrive.
The Delivery Day Parking lot is located at 7008 120 Ave. Follow the signs to the Delivery Days Parking Lot! You'll also receive a reminder email the day before your shift with a link to the map.
Please arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before your scheduled shift time.
Please bring your favourite elves, a smartphone and all the Christmas cheer!
You will need to step out of your vehicle to load up the toys, so dress for the weather.
On average, it takes approximately 3 hours to deliver 8 packages.
No, we divide the city up into 18 delivery zones, and the deliveries are dispatched by emptying one zone at a time until all zones have been completed. With the drive-thru delivery system, it's simply impossible to have each driver choose a specific area of the city.
Bring the family's gift bag to the door and knock or ring the doorbell. Look at the tag for more instructions (ie. basement suite, buzzer number or broken doorbell).
If they're home, remove the green tag and give the bag to an adult in the home.
If they're not home, you can try calling or texting the phone on the tag and returning later or or leave the green tag tucked somewhere the recipient will see it and return the bag to Santa's Depot by 6pm Saturday or 3pm Sunday.
You are welcome to phone the number on the delivery tag for instructions. After calling, if you are still unable to deliver the bag, return it to the Santa's Depot by 6pm Saturday or 3pm Sunday indicating on the tag why it is being returned.
Yes, you can leave the package with any adult at the home. If there is no adult or older teenager (16+), please return the package with the address tag attached to Santas Depot by 6pm Saturday and 3pm Sunday.
No, the bag must go to an adult within the home at the address on the bag. Even if it is requested by the recipient, please do not leave the bag on the front step or at another address. Leave the green tag at the front door for the recipient so they can arrange for another delivery later in the week.
On occasion a family’s situation changes and they may refuse the delivery of the package. If this is the case, please write REFUSED on the back of the tag and return the package to the depot by 6pm Saturday and 3pm Sunday.
Sure, you can try again later on the same day if time permits. If the bag is still undeliverable, return the package to Santas Depot by 6pm on Saturday & 3pm on Sunday.
Don't Forget - Leave the bag or the tag. Leave the green "Not Home Tag" for the family, which provides them with instructions on how to receive their gifts. Bring the package back with the address label attached to Santas Depot by 6pm Saturday or 3pm Sunday.
Once a bag is successfully delivered, the green tag can be thrown away, no need to bring it back to the depot.
Delivery Days goes ahead sleet, snow or shine! The snowier or colder it is the more important it is for drivers to come out and make sure we get the toys delivered.
